Walkthru support
Help for Walkthru, the app that turns an iPhone screen recording into a step-by-step guide. Made by Wunda Naung.
Get in touch
Email reaches the developer directly. Replies usually take a day or two. Include your device, your iOS version and what you were doing — a screen recording of the problem is ideal, and you already have the tool for it.

Common problems
Walkthru says it couldn’t read the video
Walkthru opens screen recordings — MP4 and MOV files. It cannot open screenshots, photos, GIFs or a Live Photo. If the file is a recording and still will not open, it may have been trimmed or exported by another app in a format iOS cannot decode; share the original from Photos rather than an edited copy.
My recording produced too many steps, or too few
Automatic splitting is a draft, not a verdict. Delete a step you do not want, or split one that covers two actions. If a step landed on the wrong frame, use Replace screenshot to scrub the source video and pick a better one. Screens that update on their own — a live feed, an incoming message — are the usual cause of extra steps.
The screenshot is blurry or caught mid-animation
Open the step, choose Replace screenshot, and scrub to a moment after the screen settled. Recording at a slower pace, pausing about a second on each screen, prevents most of these.
The recording doesn’t show where I tapped
iOS draws no touch indicator in screen recordings by default. To get visible tap circles, open Settings, then Accessibility, then Touch, then AssistiveTouch, turn it on and create a single-tap gesture. Walkthru’s How to record screen has the full instructions. You can also place markers yourself by tapping the frame in the editor.
Recording stopped on its own
iOS pauses a broadcast when the screen locks, and stops it if the system needs the memory. Turn Auto-Lock off in Settings, Display & Brightness, before a long recording. DRM-protected video is blanked by the system during recording and will appear black in the capture — that is iOS, not Walkthru.
I bought Pro and the watermark is still there
Open the export screen, tap the menu, and choose Restore purchases. If it still does not appear, confirm you are signed in to the same Apple Account you bought with. Note that the seven-day pass expires — passes do not auto-renew, so an expired one has to be bought again.
My seven-day pass disappeared on another device
The seven-day pass is a non-renewing purchase, and Apple provides no expiry date for that product type. Walkthru reconstructs the remaining time from your purchase history, which works reliably on the device you bought it on and is best-effort elsewhere. The lifetime unlock restores across devices normally.
I’ve hit the three-shares-a-day limit
The free tier allows three shares a day and watermarks exports. The limit resets at midnight in your device’s time zone. Pro removes both, for $9.99 once or $2.99 for seven days.
A redaction I applied isn’t in the exported file
It should be — redactions are rendered into the exported picture before any crop, and are not a removable overlay. If you can see through one in an exported file, that is a bug worth reporting with the exported file attached, if it contains nothing you mind sending.
Reporting a bug
Email walkthru@innov8.com.mmwith what you expected, what happened, and the steps to reproduce it. Walkthru has no crash reporter and no analytics, so a report from you is genuinely the only way a problem becomes known.
Send only what you are comfortable sending. If a recording shows something private, redact it in Walkthru first — the redaction is baked into the exported file.
Refunds
Purchases are handled by Apple, and refunds are requested through Apple rather than through us, atreportaproblem.apple.com. If something in the app did not work as described, email first — it is usually faster, and it tells us about the bug.
Privacy
Walkthru collects no data. Recordings and guides stay on your device. The full statement is on the privacy policy page.
